TCS recognized as "Big Four" IT Services brand
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization, announced, today, that it has been named the 4th most valuable IT services brand worldwide by Brand Finance, the world's leading brand valuation firm. Brand Finance assesses the dollar value of the reputation, image and intellectual property of the world's leading companies. Brand Finance's brand valuations are frequently peer-reviewed by top audit practices, accepted by various regulatory bodies and used by leading global brands as a performance benchmark.
N. Chandrasekaran, CEO & Managing Director of TCS said: "We are extremely pleased with this ranking as it confirms the rapid evolution and recognition of our brand at a global level. In line with the symbolic crossing of the US$ 10 billion revenue mark this year and the global top four position TCS now holds in terms of market capitalization, net income and employees, this achievement on the brand front is a watershed moment in our company's evolution towards a top position in its industry globally."
Through its work with clients, TCS has developed a strong reputation in the IT Services market for reliably delivering business results, providing leadership to drive transformation and partnering for client success. The company has been investing heavily to build up its brand presence worldwide through a full range of activities, which include an award winning global Public Relations programme, major sports sponsorships and a wide range of corporate social responsibility activities. The company's significant portfolio of sports partnerships over the past 5 years have cut across Formula 1 racing, Pro-cycling, Cricket and Running; while its community initiatives have ranged from health and wellness to youth education and environment conservation initiatives.
"The value of the TCS brand has increased rapidly over the past 3 years. Our 2012 rankings marks the first time an emerging markets headquartered firm has entered the top league in IT services," said David Haigh, CEO and founder of Brand Finance. "With a strong brand strategy and a refined sponsorship portfolio TCS has been able to improve both brand awareness and its profile globally. TCS' impressive brand value has gone from strength to strength; firmly establishing the company in the same league as the top western IT services firms - making them sit up and take note."
The world's foremost expert on the strategic practice of marketing - S. C. Johnson and Son Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Philip Kotler said: "Unreported on most balance sheets, Brand value and reputation yet remain the most important assets for a company in today's hyper-competitive globalized marketplace. In this Marketing 3.0 world, successful modern brands need to reach out not only to the hearts and minds but also the spirits of their target audience. TCS is clearly a company that is getting this right, reflected in significant gains to its brand equity, value and reputation."

Established as a nonprofit, collaborative community to foster successful businesses for its members, WIC sponsors programs and activities to help members network, improve their skills, and thrive even in a tumultuous economic climate, and also provides consulting leadership and support to the community at large.
The second-quarter webinars, in-person meetings, and workshop will cover topics such as search engine optimization, Twitter, starting a nonprofit, storytelling for business, new client "onboarding," "guerrilla publicity," and social media. WIC's in-person meetings take place in five locations throughout the Bay Area.
The WIC events are known for providing actionable tips and techniques that drive real business results. For example, WIC member Angel Rampy, founder of Success through Learning, credits a WIC workshop with dramatically increasing her income. "I went to WIC's workshop on value-based pricing last year and, as a result, shifted my pricing approach for my corporate clients. I now charge by the project instead of by the hour. Deloitte to Acquire HR Technology Consultancy, Aggressor
Deloitte has signed a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Aggressor LLC, a leading business and IT consulting firm that focuses exclusively on providing deployment services for Workday solutions. Workday is a leader in software as a service (SaaS) enterprise solutions for global human resources (HR), payroll and financial management.
The acquisition elevates Deloitte as the leader in Workday HR and finance consulting services for both transformational and technology-only deployments. Global companies are using Workday's human capital management, talent management, payroll, financial management and spend management solution to help acquire, measure, develop, deploy and retain their global workforce, as well as help improve financial and operational efficiencies and gain greater insights into their organizations.
Deloitte's Human Capital Trends 2012 report concludes that transformative technologies, such as cloud, are driving many companies to focus on advancing their HR capabilities.
"With this acquisition, Deloitte broadens its HR transformation capabilities. As a result, we have strengthened our position to be the leading provider of Workday solutions, helping our clients keep pace with innovation to lead their organizations into the future," says Barbara Adachi, national managing director of Deloitte Consulting LLP's human capital consulting practice.
Based in Pleasanton, Calif., Aggressor complements Deloitte with top talent that can help Deloitte firmly grow and maintain its leadership position in the HR transformation market. Approximately 100 Aggressor employees are expected to join Deloitte's human capital consulting practice as part of its HR transformation service line.
"By uniting our demonstrated Workday delivery approach with Deloitte's unmatched human capital experience and global reach, our new practice will offer clients a broad array of Workday-enabled services ranging from technology-driven system deployments to global HR transformation," says David Hom co-founder of Aggressor. "We are thrilled that by bringing leading talent from both teams we can help our clients get even more from their Workday investment."
