Ford Consulting Group Ltd Joins Geosyntec Consultants

Geosyntec Consultants has announced it has acquired Ford Consulting Group Ltd (FCG), one of the leading contaminated land consultancies in the United Kingdom.

Effective as of 31 March, the firm will operate as Ford Consulting Group, a Geosyntec Company. The FCG team of 14 hydrogeologists, engineers, and environmental scientists based in Delph, U.K., with a satellite location in Dublin, Ireland, will join Geosyntec's team of more than 900 engineers, scientists, and other specialists worldwide.

Marcus Ford, Ph.D., the former managing director of FCG, will join Geosyntec as a principal based in Delph. He is a chartered geologist with more than 25 years of experience as a consultant on a wide range of client projects in the U.K. and Ireland.

"By joining with Geosyntec, FCG has broadened its service offerings to our clients," Ford said. "We look forward to taking on more challenging assignments for clients, assignments that can only be accomplished when you have access to the depth of resources a firm like Geosyntec can provide."

Jim Wragg, formerly a director for FCG, also will join Geosyntec as a principal based in the U.K. He has more than 20 years of experience in the detailed investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, mainly working for industrial clients and specializing in corrective action programme design and implementation.

"With the acquisition of FCG, Geosyntec not only enhances its capabilities in soil and groundwater remediation through great staff additions at every level, we also expand our opportunities to serve our clients with facilities in the U.K., Ireland, and continental Europe," said Rudy Bonaparte, Ph.D., CEO and President of Geosyntec Consultants.
