Grant Thornton LLP Acquires Computer Technology Associates Health Solutions Division

Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, today announced its acquisition of Computer Technology Associates' (CTA) Health Solutions division, including five military health care contracts and the health care professionals supporting them.

With the acquisition, Grant Thornton's Global Public Sector practice strengthens its ability to serve commercial, civilian and military health organizations. The acquisition augments the firm's position on the TRICARE Evaluation, Analysis and Management Support (TEAMS) contract supporting military health care for the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) and military services within the Department of Defense. Contracts moving to Grant Thornton include work on the TMA Supplemental Health Care Program, Defense Centers of Excellence (DCoE) Program Management Support, DCoE Executive Staff Support, Clinical and Program Policy and Defense Health Board.

Stephen Casey, formerly CTA's executive vice president for the Health Solutions division, joins Grant Thornton along with a team of specialists in the field. Casey has 10 years of program management experience within the Military Health System (MHS) and 29 years of experience overall in health care and related information technology. "I am looking forward to combining the strengths of our specialists with Grant Thornton's health care professionals to better serve the government's health care sector and the firm's private sector clients," said Casey.

"Grant Thornton has a successful history of working with government health care organizations, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services," said Clifton Williams, who heads Grant Thornton's Global Public Sector Health Care practice. "With this acquisition, we broaden the know-how we offer dynamic health care organizations in need of advisory and program support services. Our Health Care practice brings new and supplemental resources to help clients improve their performance. We offer clinical care experience, as well as information technology, financial management, program management, performance management and specific health care knowledge."
