Acumen Solutions, an international leader in business and technology consulting, announced today that they opened a Boston office to better serve existing and new clients in the New England area. They also announced that they will be working with the City of Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development to implement a Salesforce.com cloud computing solution so that their Office of Business Development (OBD) can better manage their interaction with Boston’s small business community and to streamline its internal reporting and transparency.

The OBD will link its newly developed Salesforce.com instance with that of Boston Main Streets and the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) who currently use this platform internally. The OBD is also partnering with other city agencies to launch a new online portal for businesses in Boston, and plans to use Salesforce.com as the support system for this portal. The mayor’s office is running an application development contest for citizens to help improve municipal government where they will use Salesforce.com to track the submissions.
