Deloitte and Royal Opera House Win Hollis Sponsorship Award for Deloitte Ignite

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, and the Royal Opera House are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Hollis Sponsorship Award 2009, Arts and Business category, for Deloitte Ignite, a free, three day contemporary arts festival held for the first time in September 2008.

Rosemary Sarginson, chair of judges for the Hollis Sponsorship Awards, said: 'Deloitte Ignite broke new ground by bringing a broad cross-section of contemporary art into the Royal Opera House's wonderful setting. The sponsorship attracted high levels of exposure for both partners - delivering a young, atypical audience and senior decision-makers at the same time. The sponsorship also scored very highly against employee engagement objectives.'

Deborah Bull, Creative Director of the Royal Opera House, said: 'We are delighted that Deloitte Ignite has been recognised by the Hollis Sponsorship Awards. Deloitte Ignite embodies a spirit of innovation and creativity at the Royal Opera House which extends beyond our artistic programmes to the way we work and the way we do business.'

Heather Hancock, head of innovation and brand at Deloitte, commented: 'We are proud to be recognised for our association with the Royal Opera House and especially because our sponsorship is giving new and diverse audiences the chance to experience the wonders of this world class establishment, for free. The partnership between Deloitte and the Royal Opera House appealed because of its truly innovative nature. The content at last year's inaugural festival offered something for everyone, but always with an original twist.'

The next Deloitte Ignite will be on 4, 5 and 6 September 2009.

About the Royal Opera House and Deloitte Ignite
