Technology Consulting Firm Across Systems' Growth Spurred by Promises of Independence

Across Systems, supplier of the world's leading independent linguistic supply chain technology, today announced its American division has moved into larger office space in Glendale and has hired several new employees. During a challenging economic time when many technology companies are downsizing, Across Systems continues to grow, an advance the company attributes to its continued promise to remain an independent software technology provider. This independence has helped the company to win several large accounts in 2008, including Volkswagen.
Recently, Across Systems, Inc., the American division of Across Systems GmbH, hired additional personnel in marketing and technical support. In particular, the company won the backing of James Freville as regional sales manager of Strategic Accounts and New Accounts Acquisition. Freville has joined the company with extensive sales, market development, and large account management expertise, having more than 10 years of experience in the technology consulting industry.
Prior to becoming a manager at Across, Freville served as business manager at SDL International, a translation services and technology company, where he set the bar for national sales. He previously worked as district manager at Automatic Data Processing and as a strategic account manager for TrueAdvantage Inc.
Freville built his IT expertise as a systems engineer and administrator by consulting for companies such as Xerox and Via Health. He received his bachelor of science degree in Business Administration and Criminal Justice from the State University of New York, College at Brockport.
In the fourth quarter of 2008, Across took the unusual step of issuing a guarantee to localization service providers (LSPs) worldwide that the company plans to remain independent. Specifically, if Across were to be acquired by a localization service vendor any time within the next five years, it will refund to its LSP customers any license fees they pay from now throughout 2009 while the licenses continue to remain valid.
Across, a privately held company, believes that consolidation and acquisitions in the translation industry have bound many enterprises to proprietary software technologies and often force localization service providers to work with technologies of their competitors - something most companies do not want to do.
Daniel Nackovski, president of Across, Inc., said, "Across does not offer any kind of translation or localization services, thereby not competing with our LSP customers, nor tying enterprise customers to source technology and services from the same vendor. Jim, like many of our customers, found this a compelling argument, and decided he wanted to grow with us. We're happy to welcome him."

About Across Systems

Across Systems
, based in Karlsbad, Germany, and in Glendale, CA, is the manufacturer of the Across Language Server - the world's leading independent linguistic supply chain technology.

The Across Language Server is a central software platform for all corporate language resources and for controlling translation processes and workflows. The system simplifies, accelerates, and improves the management, coordination, and implementation of translations. Open interfaces enable the direct integration of corresponding systems, e.g. CMS, catalog, or ERP solutions. By using Across, translation costs can be cut drastically, and the investment in Across usually pays off in a very short time.
