Accenture and Cisco Announce Expanded Strategic Alliance

ccenture (NYSE:ACN), a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, and networking company Cisco (Nasdaq:CSCO) announced on Tuesday (24 February) that they have expanded their strategic alliance to form a virtual group to help large enterprises increase business agility by embedding collaboration and data centre virtualisation capabilities into their key business processes.

The Accenture & Cisco Business Group is understood to be a cross-company initiative for supporting sales, marketing, customer engagement and solution development. It provides customers access to Accenture's understanding of how technology affects people and business processes, combined with Cisco's expertise in technologies, including collaboration and data centre virtualisation.

The group will help large enterprises improve the way globally dispersed professionals communicate and collaborate with fellow employees, customers, partners and suppliers in a range of industries, including telecomms, healthcare, government, financial services, energy and utilities, regardless of whether the customer has contracts with Cisco or Accenture for the services.

Accenture and Cisco formed the group to help enable companies to take advantage of IT as a strategic asset to help them improve business agility, reduce costs, increase revenue and improve customer service.

The following are Accenture & Cisco Business Group's first three solutions: Customer Contact Transformation Solutions, which help companies to win and retain customers with an improved customer service experience; Unified Communications and Collaboration Solutions, which include services that are tailored to companies' environments to enable new ways of doing business and help create a competitive advantage; and Infrastructure Transformation Solutions, which combine the capabilities of Accenture's business-process experts and Cisco networking experts to help companies optimise their network and data centre infrastructures, the company said.
