Mercer has completed the acquisition of Alicia Smith & Associates, a Medicaid policy consulting firm.
The transaction will expand Mercer’s ability to advise federal, state and U.S. territory governments on strategies related to Medicaid, health insurance exchanges and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). According to Mercer, in a period of cost and compliance challenges related to Medicaid, state governments are under pressure and seek the advice and expertise that Mercer and the firm of Alicia Smith can provide.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Mercer’s acquisition of Alicia Smith & Associates will reinforce and expand our successful government health services business, while helping us address some of the most vexing challenges that government programs face today,” said David P. Rahill, president of Mercer’s Health and Benefits business.
