Levi Strauss & Co. Selects Capgemini for Global Business Intelligence Services

Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced that Levi Strauss & Co., one of the world's largest brand-name apparel companies and a global leader in jeanswear, has selected Capgemini to manage its applications management work around enterprise business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse solutions. The agreement builds on Capgemini's previous applications work and continued relationship with Levi Strauss & Co., which began in 2008.

As a global apparel company, Levi Strauss & Co. leverages multiple BI and analytics systems to support its retail and wholesale business units. Under the terms of the agreement, Capgemini will work with Levi Strauss & Co. to develop and implement an integrated platform -- including the SAP(R) BusinessObjects(TM) Business Intelligence (BI) platform 4.0 -- designed to provide a single, global and broad based analysis of the data flowing within the enterprise.

"Our continued success as a global business is dependent on our ability to react quickly to the data moving through our enterprise," said Tammy Amirault, vice president Application Services, Levi Strauss & Co. "It became clear a few years ago that we needed a solution that would give us a holistic view of our data across regions, while allowing us to accurately analyze it. We are confident that our relationship with Capgemini will allow us to develop a world-class retail BI solution that will help us drive revenue and decrease costs across our business."

"Very few systems integrators have the ability to support the development of such an intricate retail solution," said Lanny S. Cohen, chief executive officer, Capgemini U.S. LLC. "Our global delivery model, experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 and Teradata, and in-depth knowledge of the retail industry allow us to not only build, but deliver and support the type of complex BI environments that underpin large, global organizations, such as Levi Strauss & Co."

Capgemini will work with alliance partners SAP and Teradata, and integrate their solutions to create and support a network that will allow Levi Strauss & Co. to maintain a high level of data efficiency throughout its organization.
