Oracle Introduces Innovative Business Intelligence Solution for Tax and Revenue Authorities

Oracle has announced the availability of Oracle Tax Analytics, an innovative business intelligence solution that helps tax authorities better understand their operations and make more informed decisions that can lead to better taxpayer service, improved operational efficiency and increased collections and compliance.

Oracle and Wipro Technologies, the Global Information Technology, Consulting and Outsourcing business of Wipro Limited co-developed Oracle Tax Analytics to better meet the needs of tax and revenue authorities.

Now generally available, Oracle Tax Analytics consists of three separately licensable products that provide a modular approach to implementing tax business intelligence and meeting tax and revenue authorities' unique information needs.

These include:
-- Oracle Tax Accounting Analytics - Helps tax agencies view and
monitor the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs)
(i.e., total amount of tax or write-offs collected). The solution
also enables users to analyze tax, penalty and interest
assessments, as well as outstanding debt and credit allocations
for all assessments.
-- Oracle Tax Forms Analytics - Provides forms processing managers
with operational metrics and reports such as form volumes,
seasonal trends, exception reasons and time in error (measures
speed to work through form errors) that help identify processing
bottlenecks, improve productivity and enhance services to
taxpayers.
-- Oracle Tax Payments Analytics - Provides payment-processing
managers with operational metrics and reports on payments
distributed, currently suspended, corrected and cancelled, which
helps increase accuracy and speed of payment processing.
-- Oracle Tax Analytics provides packaged integration to Oracle
Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management 2.2 by leveraging Oracle
Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Oracle Data Integrator and
Oracle Database features. This pre-integrated feature helps reduce
total cost of ownership and speeds implementation time.

"As state, local and federal governments continue to deal with tight resources, the need to optimize tax collection processes and improve taxpayer service is imperative. Oracle Tax Analytics provides tax-specific data analytics and KPIs in taxpayer accounting, revenue accounting and other core taxation processes. The application helps government agencies improve revenue collection and tax compliance enforcement. Wipro is a leading player in the business analytics and Oracle applications space, and has strong credentials in the public sector globally. We have worked with Oracle to leverage both of our strengths in helping governments worldwide to improve governance, meet public sector specific challenges and improve citizen services," said Uma Mahesh, vertical head, Government Sector and Education Services Division, Wipro Technologies.

"When facing a challenging economy, tax authorities discover that having effective business intelligence is more critical than ever. Oracle and Wipro have worked together on the development of Oracle Tax Analytics -- a complete solution that helps tax authorities make more informed decisions that lead to better taxpayer service," said Andre van der Post, global director, Tax Solutions and Strategy, Oracle Tax Global Business Unit.
