Jane Williams, CEO and co-founder of Sand Hill Advisors, has been named to the 2009 Barron’s list of Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors in the nation. Sand Hill Advisors provides wide-ranging, individualized services for high net-worth clients, including individuals, families, charitable organizations and select institutions.
The Barron’s rankings are based on assets under management, revenue that the advisors generate for their firms, and the quality of their practices. The final list of 100 was selected from 560 nominations; a score of 100 is assigned to the top advisor and the remaining advisors are scored by comparing them to the winner.
“I am extremely pleased and honored to be included in this group of distinguished colleagues,” commented Jane Williams. “I am sure they feel, as I do, that during such difficult economic times our services are more crucial than ever. Not only is our focus, as always, on our fiduciary responsibilities to our clients, but we are more aware than ever of the need for open communications and information sharing. Thanks to our incredible Sand Hill team, we have been able to pull together every ounce of expertise and experience to maintain and even strengthen our client relationships.”
Jim McCaffrey, President and COO of Sand Hill Advisors, added, “We are very proud to have Jane recognized by a prestigious publication such as Barron’s - not only for her depth of knowledge and the success she has built at Sand Hill Advisors, but for the high standard of quality and service that she has set for everyone in our organization.”

The Winner’s Circle ranking may not be representative of any one client's experience because the rating reflects a quantitative and qualitative analysis of factors that may include only a sample of the experience of Sand Hill’s clients. The rating is not indicative of future performance. Sand Hill Advisors did not pay a fee to participate in the Barron’s rankings. The rankings are based on qualitative criteria: professionals with a minimum of seven years financial services experience, acceptable compliance records, client retention reports and customer satisfaction reports. Advisors are quantitatively ranked based on varying types of revenues and assets advised by the financial professional, with weightings associated for each. Additional qualitative measures may include: in-depth interviews and discussions with senior management, peers and customers. Because individual client portfolio performance varies and is typically unaudited, this ranking focuses on customer satisfaction and quality of advice.
