Rel Infra Bags IT Consultancy Projects in Karnataka

Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure Tuesday said it has bagged IT consultancy projects for five electricity distribution companies in Karnataka.

The distribution companies are Bangalore Electricity Supply Company, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation, Mangalore Electricity Supply Company, Hubli Electricity Supply Company and Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company, Rel Infra said in a statement.

As an IT consultant, Rel Infra would study the existing systems and develop IT blueprint for the state electricity boards (SEBs), prepare and submit detailed project report, assist the SEBs in appointing IT implementation agency as well as evolve programme for management of IT implementation.

"We are happy to win the IT consultancy projects for all five electricity distribution companies in Karnataka. We will bring in our domain expertise and experience in implementing IT infrastructure from our Mumbai and Delhi electricity distribution business," Rel Infra Chief Executive Officer and whole-time Director Lalit Jalan said.

This achievement marks Rel Infra?s foray into IT consulting in the power utility space and going forward, we would look for IT consultancy and implementation opportunities in other states as well, he added.
