Huron Consulting Group and UnitedLex Form Alliance to Provide Cost-Effective, High Quality Legal Process Outsourcing Services

Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of financial and operational consulting services, today announced an exclusive alliance with UnitedLex, a global leader in legal consulting, technology and outsourcing, to provide legal process outsourcing (LPO) services.

“The alliance with UnitedLex expands Huron’s growing Legal Consulting practice and will enable us to provide a broad range of high quality solutions to our general counsel and law firm clients at exceptional value,” said Gary E. Holdren, chairman and chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group.

“We are excited about expanding our U.S. presence through the alliance and our team has the experience and resources to hit the ground running for Huron clients,” said Dan Reed, chief executive officer of UnitedLex. “Huron and UnitedLex have seen an increased demand for LPO services because there is a real need to lower costs without compromising quality.“

Initially, the alliance will combine Huron’s almost 1,000 domestic document review stations and UnitedLex’s 600 Indian-based seats for a completely integrated discovery operation for both process and delivery. Huron will work closely with UnitedLex to offer fully scalable document review solutions to companies worldwide.

The multi-shore capabilities of the Huron-UnitedLex alliance will deliver unprecedented cost-savings in discovery matters. In addition, the alliance will be jointly developing new offerings in the areas of intellectual property assets and patents, contract management, and immigration processing services.

“Clients will benefit from the comprehensive capabilities of two strong companies, each bringing their most effective resources to bear on client needs,” said Shahzad Bashir, vice president of Huron’s Legal Consulting practice. “Our combined team allows us to support even the largest corporate legal departments dealing with the most complex matters which can be resolved by using the right combination of people, process and technology.”

The new alliance will also employ V3locity™ (pronounced “velocity”), Huron’s fixed price per reviewed page e-discovery service, which combines cost-savings, high speed, new technology and expert review centers to deliver a total document review solution for litigation matters. Upon client requests, Huron will utilize UnitedLex’s India personnel and facilities while maintaining sole management of client projects and use of Huron’s products and services.

When providing multi-shore solutions for clients, Huron will capitalize on the competencies of each firm to offer superior document review services, and combined expertise related to the new offerings focused on contracts, immigration, and patents. The collaboration will result in fully integrated products and services to help clients with their global needs.
