The Cadmus Group, Inc., has announced a strategic acquisition that will catapult the energy, environmental, and public health consultancy to the forefront of firms providing creative, multidisciplinary sustainability solutions for the built environment.
Cadmus completed the acquisition of Constructive Technologies Group (CTG) at the end of December 2011. Based in Irvine, Calif., CTG comprises a pair of consulting firms: CTG Energetics, which focuses on sustainability and energy efficiency in buildings and communities, and CTG Forensics, which applies building science to projects to reduce risk or respond to failures.

CTG brings to Cadmus a strong presence in the green and high-performance building marketplace, counting as clients such organizations as Adobe Systems, MGM Resorts International, Google, U.S. Green Building Council, Cushman & Wakefield, American Campus Communities, Toyota Motor Sales USA, Hyundai Motors, and the U.S. General Services Administration, as well as universities, architecture firms, and real estate management and development companies.
Cadmus delivers green building services to the government sector, working closely with federal, state, and local government clients to design energy efficiency programs based on the highly successful ENERGY STAR model. In addition, Cadmus supports utilities with planning, design, evaluation, and measurement and verification programs to determine the impact of energy savings programs. Both firms are involved in the development of green building rating systems around the world and the provision of corporate sustainability advisory services in support of initiatives such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Dr. Lewis, who was recently selected by the Green Building Certification Institute for the inaugural class of LEED Fellows, will join Cadmus' executive committee.
In 2009 Entrepreneur Magazine cited CTG as a Green Building industry leader and named it a Top 100 Company to Watch. CTG will operate under the Cadmus name, and Cadmus will maintain CTG's offices in Oakland, Calif., and Denver, Colo., as well as its Irvine headquarters.

CTG has a technical staff of 30, which, when added to Cadmus' green building team, gives Cadmus more than 75 technical consultants in its high-performance-building consulting practice. The combined companies will have a technical staff of close to 400 professionals. Financial details of employee-owned Cadmus' merger with closely held CTG have not been released.
