PA Consulting Group and Ubisense Transform Operations at a Major US Utility

PA Consulting Group announced that it is working with Ubisense to deliver a comprehensive operational support system for a US electric and gas utility serving more than one million customers.

The companies are working together to implement GE’s geospatial product suite to support electric and gas operations. The products, including GE Smallworld Core Spatial Technology, GE Smallworld Electric Office, GE Gas Distribution Office and PowerOn, will be rolled out incrementally over a 14-month period. The solutions are targeted to support more than 1,000 employees and external contractors and will enable the utility to improve safety, service and reliability across its 6,000 square-mile service area.

PA Consulting is serving as program manager for this extensive set of projects and will be responsible for ensuring that the projects are delivered on-time, within budget and fully achieve the utility’s objectives. Ubisense is serving as technical lead for the program and is responsible for product implementation, integration and training.
