Hitachi Consulting Honored as Microsoft U.S. Public Sector Federal XRM Partner of the Year

Hitachi Consulting, a leading provider of IT consulting and management consulting solutions and services, today announced its recognition as the 2011 Microsoft U.S. Public Sector Federal XRM Partner of the Year. The award honors Hitachi Consulting’s innovative use of Microsoft technology, specifically Microsoft Dynamics® CRM, on behalf of Federal agencies to help solve their mission-critical problems.

“Hitachi Consulting’s Public Sector practice is focused on helping Federal agencies drive greater efficiencies in the performance of their missions,” said John Bush, senior vice president and leader of Hitachi Consulting’s U.S. Public Sector practice. “In today’s era of austerity, agencies need solutions that not only reduce costs but also unlock the full potential of their workforce and information assets. We have found Microsoft Dynamics CRM to be an excellent catalyst for this. We set out to be a leader in this area and are very pleased to be recognized by Microsoft for our efforts.”

The award stems from a project between Hitachi Consulting and the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to develop and implement a social services case management and payment processing system. BIA turned to Hitachi Consulting’s full lifecycle case management solution, built using Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft SharePoint® technologies, to modernize and improve its case management capabilities. The new easy-to-use solution automates data management and access, streamlines operations, and integrates with other departments to allow case workers to be significantly more efficient and productive in providing social services for those in need.

“Our partner community plays a vital role in delivering technology solutions that meet the unique needs of customers across government, education and healthcare,” said Vince Menzione, general manager of U.S. Public Sector Partner Strategy. “Hitachi Consulting has shown incredible dedication to serving the public sector, and the company’s recognition as a Partner of the Year is well deserved.”

The case management platform can be a great platform for agencies seeking to improve constituent service and mission effectiveness, better manage resources through supply chain management practices and migrate core applications to the cloud.

“Our partners play an essential role in helping customers leverage Microsoft technology to increase efficiency, improve service delivery, and reduce operational costs,” said Greg Myers, Microsoft vice president of Federal. “The work that Hitachi Consulting has delivered over the past year is an example of what can be accomplished when great technology is combined with deep market expertise.”

The Microsoft Partner Program is designed for all partners who developed and market solutions based on Microsoft platforms, provide consulting or technical services on Microsoft systems, or recommend Microsoft technology purchases. Microsoft partners include consulting services providers, independent software vendors (ISVs), independent hardware vendors, large account resellers (LARs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), support providers, system integrators, system builders, training providers, value-added resellers and value-added providers.
