Deloitte Expands Cloud Computing Practice

Deloitte is expanding its cloud computing services to offer companies an enhanced and broader set of capabilities, including business model development, solution delivery and talent management.

The expansion is a continuation of Deloitte's multi-year investment in cloud computing services to address both the enabling and disruptive potential of cloud computing on client businesses and marketplaces. Paul Clemmons, an accomplished principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP has recently taken on the leadership role for the organization's cloud computing services.

"Cloud computing impacts business strategy, technology architecture, and sourcing and services delivery for our clients across industries. It also enables new capabilities such as mobility, social networking, and business analytics," said Janet Foutty, national managing director-technology, Deloitte Consulting LLP. "Paul's experience in practice building and leadership will help sharpen our focus on this important market."

Deloitte's investments in cloud computing include expanded services to clients, such as cloud provider business model advisory, operating model development and ecosystem development with advisory, implementation and operational services. The practice boosts Deloitte's capabilities in the planning, design and implementation of cloud adoption services for cloud service subscribers. Moreover, Deloitte's expanded cloud computing services can help clients in their efforts to scale new and existing SaaS delivery capabilities, create PaaS custom development and deployment capability, and address cloud-centric data and integration.

"Cloud computing is providing companies with elastic, scalable and flexible IT capabilities using on-demand provisioning and pay-as-you-go services. These new capabilities enable innovation in business models, speed-to-market and cost efficiencies," said Clemmons. "Deloitte is well-positioned to help companies with cloud computing adoption and implementation given our global consulting, enterprise risk, tax and other services. I look forward to driving Deloitte's efforts with clients, vendors and analysts focusing on how to capitalize on cloud computing's potential to impact business models."

Clemmons background spans a variety of domains including sales and marketing, e-commerce, customer experience and Enterprise Resource Planning, and across a number of different industries including technology, financial services and consumer business. Under his leadership, the Deloitte Emerging Solutions service line has been one of the faster growing areas in Deloitte and focuses on innovation and incubation of new practice offerings in enterprise software. He holds bachelor and master degrees in engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
