CSC Wins $45 Million Task Order to Provide Hosting and Consulting Services for GSA

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded CSC a task order to provide hosting services for its primary acquisition applications. The task order, which was awarded during CSC's second quarter of fiscal year 2012, has a two-month base period, four one-year options and one 10-month option, bringing the estimated total value to $45 million over five years. It was awarded under the GSA Alliant contract that CSC won in April 2009.

"CSC's ability to bring infrastructure as a service platforms to GSA will enable the agency to modernize its technology by leveraging new hosting paradigms like the cloud," said Mike Gaffney, president of CSC's North American Public Sector Civil Group. "By applying our expertise in cybersecurity, we will ensure our solutions for GSA represent the best practices to manage risk and provide for effective resiliency."

Under the terms of the task order, CSC will host the current infrastructure that is used to support GSA's mission-critical applications, such as GSA Advantage and eBuy, two services the government uses to acquire products and services that serve the public. In addition, the company will assist GSA in modernizing its information technology infrastructure by transitioning to a technical framework that enables rapid response to emerging technology trends and complex government requirements. CSC will provide consulting and capabilities as the agency moves its applications to more cost-effective technologies, such as cloud computing, infrastructure as a service and virtualization.

CSC is one of 57 firms awarded the GSA Alliant contract. This indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract gives the company the opportunity to compete for task orders to provide government agencies with technology services such as cybersecurity, health IT, virtualization and cloud computing.
