Deloitte Integrates the Skura Business Intelligence Group, Further Expanding Analytics Capabilities

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- In an ongoing expansion of its analytics capabilities, effective December 19, Deloitte welcomed professionals from Skura Business Intelligence (BI) Group - a sister company of Skura Corporation and an Oracle Partner. The addition of these professionals furthers Deloitte's unmatched analytics service capabilities, which employs a big-picture approach encompassing three business-critical engines: deep sector knowledge, broad functional capabilities and a high degree of technical sophistication.

"Our new colleagues' skills will add a new business intelligence dimension to our Information Management and Analytics Technology practice, broadening our capabilities in financial, customer insight, supply chain and workforce analytics," says Ray Pineda, National Analytics leader of Deloitte's Consulting practice. "This strategic talent acquisition of Skura BI Group's people supports Deloitte's focus on - and investment in - building leading analytics capabilities."

The professional staff of Skura BI Group have joined Deloitte, including Ken Shum, Managing Director, and Chris Szaban, Technical Director. Ken, Chris and their team specialize in implementing Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), a solution that enables organizations to gain more insight and greater value from a range of data sources and applications. BI is a key component of analytics that drives business growth and innovation - ultimately helping businesses to make informed and agile business decisions within a complex market. Oracle is the largest business software company in the world, with more than 345,000 customers - including 100 of the Fortune Global 100.

"Joining Deloitte aligns perfectly with our strategic goals of diversifying our customer base, expanding the service capabilities we can offer to existing clients, and broadening career opportunities for our people," says Shum. "We felt there was a great cultural fit with Deloitte. Not only are they a leader in the analytics space, they have an entrepreneurial spirit that will support the growth of an Oracle BI practice across Deloitte's much broader network."

According to Pineda and Shum, this is good news for both Deloitte and legacy Skura BI Group clients. Deloitte clients will now have access to a broader range of BI-based analytics solutions, and Skura BI Group clients can now tap into Deloitte's business insights across the areas of audit, consulting, enterprise risk, financial advisory and tax.

"This talent acquisition illustrates Deloitte's continued focus on staying one step ahead of the growing market demand for enterprise solutions that unlock the value of structured and unstructured business data by turning information into insight," says Pineda.
