Capgemini Deploys Crossroads' StrongBox Enterprise LTFS Archive

Crossroads Systems, Inc. shipped StrongBox(R), its online all-the-time, non-proprietary and fully portable data vault for long-term data retention, to Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services.

With more than 115,000 people in 40 countries, Capgemini, together with its clients, creates and delivers business and technology solutions that fit their needs and drive results. Capgemini deployed StrongBox in its Netherlands data center to archive data for one of the largest department stores in the country, which serves as one of Capgemini's most prevalent customers in the region.

Easily integrated into their existing file-based applications, StrongBox replaced the customer's outdated and limited optical archive system. StrongBox expanded Capgemini's managed data vaulting services and SAP archives, while also now empowering a new Capgemini archival service.

"Compared to other available alternatives, StrongBox clearly provided the most compelling pricing per gigabyte, while also offering a new set of 'always online' capabilities that have the potential to greatly expand our archiving services," said Frank Huiskes, global CTO of Infrastructure Transformation Services at Capgemini. "With reliability and cost as its most appealing attributes, StrongBox provides us with brand new ways to manage both our clients' long-term data and our own."

Rob Sims, president and CEO of Crossroads Systems, commented: "Following the announcement of StrongBox general availability, we are pleased to work with a renowned company such as Capgemini to offer ground-breaking archive solutions that greatly expand the possibilities of how tier 3 data is managed using the LTFS standard. Customer wins such as this highlight our partners' and customers' confidence in the new StrongBox solution."

About StrongBox(R)

StrongBox is a non-proprietary, file-based and fully portable storage solution for long-term data retention.
