Hitachi Consulting UK Completes Technology Consolidation for Interserve

Hitachi Consulting UK today announced that it has completed the implementation of a new common IT infrastructure for Interserve based on Microsoft Dynamics AX® and Microsoft BizTalk® integration. The implementation consolidates and integrates HR and Finance technologies, providing Interserve with a single common platform across its business using ERP, EAI and Managed Services. Interserve is one of the largest organisations using Microsoft Dynamics AX in Europe and the project was one of the largest of its kind in the UK.

Shaun Devey, IT Director for Interserve commented, “We appointed Hitachi Consulting based on their expertise in managing complex projects and their in-depth technical understanding of Microsoft technologies.”

Hitachi Consulting UK managed the process improvement, shared services consolidation, procurement process, complex data migration and integration using more than 30 consultants based onsite. The project was designed to create a common IT infrastructure, eliminate legacy systems, and deliver efficiencies around procurement, reporting and cost savings.

“We are now able to operate our HR and Finance systems across a single platform with unified processes, consistent metrics and a significantly reduced total cost of ownership,” added Devey. “We will be working with Hitachi Consulting on further work around payroll, and Hitachi Consulting is continuing to support our new applications through their Managed Services, which includes support for Microsoft Dynamics AX modules including Financials, Trade & Logistics, Project Accounting and Human Resources. Hitachi Consulting is also providing management of Microsoft BizTalk interfaces between Dynamics and other Interserve applications.”

Steve French, Vice President, Hitachi Consulting UK, commented, “Interserve’s implementation is a great example of how replacing IT complexity and disparity with a common technology infrastructure can streamline efficiency across an entire organisation. We’re delighted to be helping Interserve transform its processes and deliver a robust infrastructure for future growth.”
