NERA Economic Consulting Announces Officer-Level Promotions

NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today that Dr. Hiroaki Ishigaki and Christopher Laursen have been promoted to Vice President.

Dr. Hiroaki Ishigaki, a Tokyo-based member of NERA’s Global Antitrust and Competition and Transfer Pricing practices, specializes in economic analyses of antitrust matters such as mergers, cartels, predatory pricing, and monopolization. He also performs economic assessments for various types of transfer pricing and intellectual property issues. His areas of expertise include microeconomics, game theory, industrial organization, and applied econometrics. Dr. Ishigaki received his PhD and MS in economics from Purdue University, his MA in economics from the University of Tsukuba, and his BA in political science from Aoyama Gakuin University.

Christopher Laursen, a Washington, DC-based member of the firm’s Global Securities and Finance practice, is a leading expert in financial products and markets, risk management, and financial regulation. Prior to joining NERA in 2009, he served as Manager of Risk Policy and Guidance for the Supervision and Regulation Division of the Federal Reserve Board. In that role, he was responsible for the development of all risk-oriented directives issued to Federal Reserve-supervised financial institutions and Federal Reserve examiners. Mr. Laursen holds an MBA with a finance concentration from the University of Pennsylvania'sWharton School of Business and a BBA in finance from the University of Miami.
