Bluewolf Ranked Among Crain's 'Best Places to Work in New York City'

Bluewolf, a leading agile business consulting firm, announced today that it has again been selected as one of Crain's New York Business' "Best Places to Work in New York City" for 2010. In reference to Bluewolf's selection, the publication cited the company's efforts to provide its more than 200 employees with resume-enhancing experience and career-transforming skills that prepare them for a better future.

"As an agile IT consultancy in a space that evolves at a dizzying speed, our true value lies in our ability to harness the full knowledge and talents of our workforce to our clients' advantage," said Michael Kirven, co-founder and principal at Bluewolf. "Creating and retaining an engaged employee base while preserving our corporate culture is the principle that guides our ongoing career development initiatives."

In order to keep its employees up-to-speed on the latest IT developments, Bluewolf leverages a combination of in-house training and outside conferences, and fosters a culture and work environment that encourages constant informal "give-and-take" between colleagues.

In addition to Bluewolf's career development emphasis, Crain's cited other innovative tactics, including dispatching its people to clients' offices in order to help them make more informed decisions and provide superior consulting.

"The successful next-generation technologists need to be equally adept business analysts," continued Kirven. "We aim to develop people who can not only configure software systems, but also understand how those systems can best serve clients' strategic business objectives."

Unveiled in Crain's New York Business on December 6, the company rankings were based on 13,131 surveys of employees in New York City, the results of which yielded a variety of data regarding best practices for creating a rewarding work experience. Scores from a confidential 76-question employee survey (75% weighting) were combined with scores from an employer survey (25% weighting), which included questions about benefits and policies. The Crain's news department strictly reports the results and does not influence the rankings in any way.
