CSC Wins $26 Million Navy Contract

CSC announced today that the U.S. Navy awarded the company a support services contract for the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 9 (VX-9). The contract, which was awarded during CSC's fiscal 2011 first quarter, has a one-year base period and four one-year options, bringing the estimated total value to $26 million.

Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide engineering, analytical and technical services in support of VX-9's mission to conduct operational tests and evaluation on tactical aircraft and weapons. VX-9 conducts operational testing on all models of the FA-18 Hornet, including the newest G "Growler" model, the AV-8 Harrier, the EA-6B Prowler and the new upgrades to the Cobra and Huey helicopters. Testing includes new software and weapons systems. Work will be performed at the Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake, Calif., and at multiple temporary sites as required by the client.

"CSC is proud to support VX-9's test and evaluation of complex weapons and aircraft systems, in realistic operational environments, to ensure an effective and stable system that will operate correctly in combat," said Austin Yerks, president of CSC's North American Public Sector Defense Group.
