Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced that Douglas Charles has joined Capgemini as vice president of market development and sales officer for the Technology Services (TS) division in North America. Charles will develop and lead the business unit’s market development and sales strategy and continue to position the company as a leader in technology transformation and implementation services in key industries across North America.

Charles previously worked for Capgemini, and most recently worked for SAIC as general manager of the Commercial business unit. In addition to bringing a wide range of services and offerings to the market for Capgemini, Charles will lead strategic alliances and account development, as well as oversee the North American life sciences; oil and gas; utilities and chemicals; and consumer products and retail teams.

“I am pleased to welcome Doug back to Capgemini,” said Lanny Cohen, chief executive officer, Capgemini U.S. LLC. “Doug has a wealth of knowledge in launching new service offerings and large account management, especially in our key markets, which will help us drive an effective sales strategy across North America and ensure that our clients are receiving the most comprehensive services and offerings available to support their information technology and business needs.”

Charles joined SAIC in 2004, where after growing the consulting and technical services to a $150 million service line, he was promoted to lead SAIC’s 3,000 person global Commercial operations. Prior to joining SAIC, Charles spent 11 years with Ernst & Young and Capgemini in various roles, including senior account executive for some of Capgemini’s key energy and utilities accounts. He also helped establish the telecommunications offerings for Ernst & Young, and later served as a vice president and account executive for Capgemini’s Emerging Markets Telecommunications practice.
