PMA Consultants LLC announced today that it received a contract to provide construction management (CM) services for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s (SFPUC) San Joaquin Regional Projects, currently one of the largest projects in PMA history.
PMA will work closely with subconsultant Jacobs Field Services North America, Inc./Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., to provide professional CM services for the program, which totals approximately $350 million. The projects are generally located in the California Central Valley on the east side of the Altamont Pass. Work scope includes construction of 11 miles of new 92-inch diameter pipeline; rehabilitation of existing pipelines; new crossover valve structures; a throttling station to improve emergency pipeline shutdown capability and operational flexibility; Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system upgrades; a new 315-million-gallon-per-day ultraviolet and chemical feed facility; as well as coordinating with other concurrent water quality improvement projects. The project officially marks the establishment of a PMA presence on the west coast.
In making the announcement, PMA Consultants Managing Principal Bruce Stephan, PE, PMP, stated, “We are thrilled to be assisting the SFPUC with this vital program to enhance the integrity of the water supply system in the Bay Area. In relocating back to the Bay Area to lead this team, I intend to bring PMA’s commitment to exceed client’s expectation to everything we do. I am especially happy that we were able to bring such quality staff from PMA and Jacobs to help us succeed in this goal.”
