Marco Polo Latin America Selected as the Consultancy to Implement Technology Trading Platform for the Bolsa Nacional Agropecuaria (BNA) in Colombia

The Board of Directors of the National Agricultural Exchange (Bolsa Nacional Agropecuaria) has chosen Marco Polo Latam B.V. as their consultant for the selection and implementation of an electronic trading system. Marco Polo will provide the BNA with recommendations for purchasing an electronic trading platform and its implementation.

"Certainly the commodity-derivatives markets are played in a global setting rather than a purely local environment," Juan Botero, President of Bolsa Nacional Agropecuaria, explained, "With this new platform, we are pushing BNA to play a key role in the region". ... We are pleased to have selected Marco Polo on such a strategic initiative. Their proven track record in providing emerging markets with state of the art technology made them the obvious choice for this venture. We are confident that this project will increase interest in the Colombian commodity-derivatives markets.

David Meredith, Chief Technology Officer for Marco Polo noted that, "An electronic platform will propel BNA into becoming a highly regarded leading Exchange and integral player in the global markets. In helping them address the complete requirements of implementing and electronic platform, we are able to bring to bear our global expertise in technology, electronic trading and emerging markets. We are excited about working with the BNA in achieving their strategic goals."

The need for a consulting firm emerged when the BNA administration identified major restrictions in the current trading system. As BNA expands into different asset classes and offerings, they recognized a crucial need for an electronic infrastructure to support the strategic growth of the exchange.
